In honor of my father, Raymond Eugene Hess, the greatest man I ever knew, who lost a 20 year battle with heart disease and other complications on April 17th, 2001 at the age of 65.

These are my parents, the people who taught me the value of hard work, loving your family, being the best person you can be, standing by your morals, and to never give up, no matter how hard you have to fight. Daddy farmed, managed a lumber yard, was the local policeman, and city manager. He worked until his health no longer allowed. Together they raised 4 children, I was number 3. What makes them even more special is that my younger sister and I were adopted. They brought us home as infants, loved us and raised us just as their own. Daddy taught me nearly everything I know, and gave me the common sense and ingenuity to tackle the things I must learn. He never faltered in his love for his children and his wife. He is loved and missed by all who knew him.

To quote something my oldest brother wrote of him;

"Daddy could repair nearly anything, but nothing will repair the empty place in our hearts that's been left by his passing"
